This is the confluence with the Fox River. It doesn't seem to be moving much, and it seems to be entirely covered by algae. For a mile or so downstream, I could see little swirls and eddies of green on the surface of the Miss. It's the first time so far that I've seen something like this. Seems like bad news in terms of the nitrate load of the Miss, and it wasn't surprising to see the test strip today after this confluence get redder, indicating a greater nitrate load.
