gone on the river
The second half of the dry run: getting everything on the water, out on Lake Como. It worked beautifully.
From the bow to stern, here's what I'm carrying: a backpack with my electronics, notebooks, etc. The Brompton folding bike in its bike bag. The Duluth pack full of camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc.). Two tubs full of food and cookware. And taking up the rear, the disassembled bike trailer for the canoe.
The canoe was quite stable in the water - it's a fair amount of weight, but I've managed to get the heaviest parts quite low in the boat, where they act as ballast.
I made a few circuits around the lake, getting the feel for this setup.
I think it's ready!
